48
It was 4:15 a.m.
"Mom."
I could hear Jack's whisper.
"Mom, wake up."
I opened my eyes.
"I feel low."
"Okay, well let's test you."
Jack was 48.
A few hours later, as he was getting ready for school, I asked Jack whether the low woke him up.
"No, Max woke me up. Max couldn't sleep, and he wanted me to go into the playroom to play with him."
I keep wondering what would have happened if Max hadn't woken up? 4 a.m. falls between our usual sugar checks.
And why did Max wake up? Max *never* wakes up *that* early. Divine intervention?

Maybe Max could "sense" something was up with his brother. Maybe he could smell the low. Who knows. I am SO glad Max did wake up and Jack is ok! How scary!
wow! Divine intervention is right! Thank god jacks ok!
Sounds like the "Angel" post Meri was writing the other day...how things just happen...to save the day!!! Thank goodness for playful Max. (((HUGS)))
Joshua got up the other night for a "bad dream" so I tested Isabel's BG and caught a low. He NEVER wakes up in the night! Angels. I firmly believe in them. Thank goodness (thank the angels) that Jack is OK :)
Yup.. definintely something beyond our powers going on there! Glad he woke up Heidi!!
wow wow wow. so thankful for Max and whatever else was working for you that night.

The beautiful gift of a sibling angel.
